Promotion of 28
generals confirmed

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Commission on Appointments has confirmed the promotion of Major General Maximo Caro, chief of staff of the Philippine Army, and 27 other generals of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Caro used to be assigned as 303rd Infantry Brigade commander in Negros Occidental, before his present position.

The CA also confirmed the two-star rank of Negrense Major General Rey Ardo, commanding general of the 6th Infantry Division in Mindanao; and his deputy, Brig. Gen. Manuel Luis Ochotorena.

Ochotorena used to be the commander of the 302nd IB in Negros Occidental, the post now occupied by another Negrense, Colonel Francisco Patrimonio.

Caro, Ochotorena, Patrimonio and Col. Ademar Tomaro, also a Negrense, and the deputy commander of the 602nd IB in Mindanao, are all members of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1982.

The promotion of senior military officials to the next high rank needs the concurrence of the CA, with members coming from the House of Representatives and the Senate.*GPB
