Palaro medalists
receive incentives

Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. gave cash incentives to 143 athletes from Negros Occidental who gold medals in the recent 2012 Palarong Pambansa in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

For individual games, gold medalists received P10,000 each, P5,000 for silver medalists, and P3,000 for bronze medalists. Team events received P50,000 for gold, P30,000 for silver and P10,000 for bronze medal.

Honoring his commitment to award cash incentives to athletes from Iloilo, Aklan, Guimaras, Antique and Capiz who won medals for the region in the Lingayen Palaro, Gov. Marañon signed the budget of P1,010,000 for the incentives.

Western Visayas finished first runner-up overall against the National Capital region, plucking 47 gold, 37 silver, and 39 bronze medals.*
