Fil-Sino routs visiting IFCBA

Fil-Sino Athletic Club swept the visiting Iloilo Filipino Chinese Basketball Association last Saturday at the Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The Bacolod City-based basketball squad pulled away in the opening quarter to post a 97-75 victory of its counterpart, fending off a rally by IFCBA, 80-73, to complete the twin victory.

The inter-city friendship games between the two ballclubs is on its 12th year. The homecourt advantage proved to be a difference-maker in this edition with last week’s games played in Iloilo favoring the IFCBA teams.

Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. gave cash incentives to 143 athletes from Negros Occidental who gold medals in the recent 2012 Palarong Pambansa in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
