A birthday bash

BUDDAI

Oh! What a day last Sunday was!

In the morning, the sun was brightly shining on my way to Carmel to attend the recollection and mass of Fr. Jun-Jun Agruda. When we came out at around 11:45 a.m., it was drizzling. Thanks to Cora Mar Lizares, we hitched a ride to Robinsons for lunch.

In spite of the bad weather, the birthday celebration of Lucho Giron at Sipango Latin Bar and Ballroom, pushed through. The son of Dr. Evangeline Johnson, CEO and president of the Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital, Lucho who is a professional pilot, grew up in the States, and has dual citizenship, but opted to stay in the Philippines to help his mother.

He is a consistent champion in shooting competitions.

At exactly 8 p.m., dinner was served buffet-style after the prayer. At the birthday bash were friends of the celebrator from business, gun club, doctors and employees of Our Lady of Mercy.

After dinner, Vicky and Beth Dreyfus started the lucky numbers draw for visitors with prizes or gifts. Almost everybody received something. The dancing started and lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

To Lucho, God Bless and more birthdays to celebrate!

Remember: When you flee temptation, be sure you don’t leave a forwarding address. Because God’s word is trustworthy and your salvation is secure.*
