47th IB leads giving
of school supplies

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Several school children in the upland areas of Southern Negros Occidental have been provided with school supplies and school uniforms as well as shoes by the Kayang-kayang Missions International in partnership with the 47th Infantry Brigade Philippine Army.

The 47th IB, under Lt. Col Rodrigo Sosmena, identified the indigent school children to be recipients of the school supplies.

Kayang-kayang Missions president Grace Isabel Punsalan, who is based in Iloilo City, said their group started the educational assistance project a few years ago by sponsoring the educational expenses of the deserving children, whose parents cannot afford to send them to school.

Kayang-kayang and the 47th IB distributed the school supplies and financial assistance to the scholars and other indigent children. The school supplies include schoolbags with pens, pad paper, notebooks, and other items*.CGS
