BATASANG PAMBANSA, QC - Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez announced that the National Electrification Administration yesterday released P4.4 million of a total of P16 million set for the electrification of Bacolod puroks still without any connection to Central Negros Electric Cooperative.
NEA Administrator Edith Bueno, who met with Golez at the House, said the P4.4 million will be used to connect puroks in 16 barangays, Bueno said.
The first 30 poorest families per purok identified for coverage will get free electricity connection, bulbs and switches in their home, he added.
Golez said that they will keep on determining the areas that lack electricity and they will submit it to NEA for evaluation and if they find the list as bonafide residents of Bacolod and can qualify for the said project, then NEA will release the next budget.
"What is good for this program is that the first 30 poorest families in the said barangays can avail of a subsidized installation of electrical lines to their houses. The wirings, bulbs and switches will be provided free to these families," he said.
The firstborn that will benefit from this project are those in Barangays Granada, Alangilan, Mansilingan and other barangays.
Golez said that they will keep on determining the areas that lack electricity and they will submit it to NEA for evaluation and if they find the list as bonafide residents of Bacolod and can qualify for the said project, then NEA will release the next budget.
Golez said he is also sponsoring a bill anew for a national ID system.
This will free residents from the hassle having to get IDs from various government agencies, if they only have one ID, Golez said.
Meanwhile, Golez who would not reveal his political plans for 2013, said he hopes his party in Bacolod City would call a meeting for discuss plans for 2013.
He said no meeting has been held and no plans have been discussed yet with the elections fast approaching.*CPG
