The ordinance creating and institutionalizing the Bacolod Trade and Cultural Center proposed by Bacolod Councilor Sonia Verdeflor was approved during the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s regular session, recently, a press release from the city said.
The ordinance aims to showcase Bacolod products, arts, crafts and promote Filipino-Muslim decorative and industrial arts and culture.
The BTCC also aims to endorse the rich culture and arts of Filipino-Muslims and will open opportunities to sustain and economically help thempropagate traditional artistic craft and industry, the press release said.
The ordinance also aims to make the center one of the landmarks or tourism destination in Bacolod.
Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia will be the over-all Chairman of the Center, with Vice-Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson as Co-Chairman, the press release said.*
