Bidding for school
supplies June 13

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The opening of bids for the purchase of bags and school supplies for public elementary students in Bacolod City is set on June 13, Bids and Awards chairman Goldwyn Nifras said yesterday.

Nifras said only Sunrise Marketing participated in the pre-bid conference for the purchase of school supplies last week. He had earlier, explained that the pre-bid conference is the stage of procurement where prospective bidders are given the chance to inquire from the city, as the end user, and the BAC, about the requirements.

The budget allocated for the purchase of school supplies is P11.8 million, he added.

Nifras said that if the project is awarded right away to the winning bidder, they will be given a certain period to deliver the items, hopefully, within this month, he said in an interview over DYRL.

The items include bags, notebooks, pencil, ruler and crayons, Nifras added.

Acting Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson advised parents not to purchase all the school supplies needed by their children since the city is providing them free bags and school supplies, hopefully, before the month end.*CGS
