The new mayor and vice mayor of Binalbagan towntook their oaths of office before Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. at the provincial Capitol in Bacolod City yesterday to fill the vacancy left by the election of Alejandro Mirasol as congressman of the fifth district of Negros Occidental.
On Monday Mirasol, the former mayor of Binalbagan, also took his oath of office as congressmanbefore House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte.
Vice Mayor Emmanuel Aranda took his oath as mayor, and first councillor SammuelGavaran as vice mayor before Marañon, in the presence of Board Members Salvador Escalante Jr. and Nehemias Dela Cruz Sr..
Aranda said he will prioritize the implementation of the projects left byMirasol in their municipality and focus more on agricultural projects.
He also said will continue implementing Mirasol’s RENEWAL program that stands for R - Roads and Infrastructure, E - Environment, N- Nutrition and Social Services, E - Education, W - Water, A - Agriculture, and L – Livelihood in Binalbagan.
Arandapointed put that Mirasol had promised to expand the program throughout the fifth district.
A choice for the eighth councillor of Bilnalbagan has yet to be made, he said.
He said it will up to Mirasol to announce the nominee of the Liberal Party, of which they are all members, to the post.*CPG back
