JSY Transport in semis
of Fil-Sino basketball tilt

JSY Transport secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating top seed Organic Solutions, 64-48, while JSY Countertrade beat Jast Enterprises, 78-87, in the last day of the elimination round in Class B of the 2012 Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade 1st Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The victory by JSY Transport eliminated JSY Countertrade.

Organic Solutions finished the elimination round on top of the standings at 6-2 and will have twice-to-beat advantage when they meet JSY Transport on Monday in the semifinals.

Transport Celhelm Uy was unstoppable in the third quarter as he single-handedly outscored Organic, 14 to 6 points, turning a close halftime advantage of 32-28 to a 54-34 lead going to the payoff quarter.

Dichavez supported Uy with 12 points, Rey Jara added 8, Garret Tabanao also delivered 8, Tubby Villanueva and Jeremy Coo made 7 points each.

Alex Chua and Jerky Ong paced Organic with 8 points apiece, while Chingsan Su made 7 points and Simon Tan had 6 points.

JSY Countertrade iced the first game against Basecom, although a Transport loss would have put JSY Countertrade in the semifinals.

Leaving nothing to chance, Countertrade took a 45-27 lead at the break to coast to victory.

Berto Uysang had a game-high 22 points, Biboy Uysang and Mark Velez scored 15 points each and Daniel Lo shot 13 points.

Eduardo Ng drilled in five treys for 17 points in a losing effort, Kevin Banzon sunk 16, Jan Jan Young delivered 14, Christopher Mahinay and Papang Oxinio contributed 10 points each.

Basecom also finished at 6-2 to tie Organic, but their two losses were dealt by Organic relegating them to second spot and will play a knockout match against Jast Enterprises in the other semis duel.*with a report from Stephen Tan
