A petition for intervention was filed by the Social Action Center of the Bacolod Diocese recently to the request of Central Negros Electric Cooperative to the Energy Regulatory Commission to allow it to collect under recoveries totaling P414.6 million.
In its petition dated May 30, 2012, the SAC, represented by Elinore Cabanilla, asked ERC to direct CENECO to furnish them a copy of its application for them to examine the documents and prepare for its opposition.
She also ask that subsequent hearings on the case be conducted in Bacolod City so CENECO consumers can participate in them.
Based on information, she said that 72 percent of the total amount sought to be recovered for the year 2011 alone makes the application incredulous, questionable and unconscionable, grossly unfair and oppressive.
Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, for the City of Bacolod, also filed an opposition on April 25, 2012 to the application of CENECO asking ERC to allow it to collect under recoveries totaling P414.6 million.
ERC has set for hearing, the CENECO application at the CENECO building at Mabini Street, Bacolod City at 9 a.m. tomorrow.*CGS
