TIPC prevents hospital strike
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Tripartite Industrial Peace Council and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board held a conciliation meeting yesterday for the Holy Child Hospital management and the employees union that is affiliated with the Associated Labor Union-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines.

Negros Oriental provincial administrator Arnel Francisco said a strike is brewing after allegations of violation in the provisions of the compromise agreement between the management and employees.

The union wanted management to comply with the provision on the release of union benefits, he added. The problem is compounded by the petition of another group of employees for disaffiliation from the main group, and the call for the election of new set of union officers.

The management is holding the release of the union dues because of the petition, he said.

But ALU-TUCP district officer Felizardo Calimpong said that, despite the pending petition, the compromise agreement should be complied with.*JG
