The Department of Agrarian Reform central office conducted a problem-solving session with Focus Global at Plaza Ma. Luisa Suites Inn in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, recently.
The activity aimed to formulate recommendations and solutions to the problems and concerns presented by civil society groups in the recent Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms assessment.
It also determined solutions to the CARPER concerns; discussed problem areas in the implementation of the land tenure improvement program; and to troubleshoot them through a hands-on approach, a DAR press release said.
The Negros Oriental Center for People’s Empowerment and Development, Negros Oriental Institute for Rural Development, the Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan Inc., and the Negros Farmers Council raised issues involving the landholdings during the activity.
The members of the Special Action Team of DAR agreed to conduct a monthly discussion of issues and concerns on the CARP implementation at the Municipal Agrarian Reform Office level, and quarterly meetings at the provincial and central offices, the press release added.*
