Azkals vs. Guam at
Panaad tonight

When the Philippine Azkals play against the Guam national football team tonight, 7 p.m. at the Panaad Football field, the Filipinos will be up against a competitive team that hopes to improve its performance in the East Asian Football Championship in July.

In a press conference yesterday, Guam’s head coach Gary White said their team is ready for the Azkals and they came prepared for the match.

While the Guam side is ranked lower than the Philippines in the FIFA rankings, White said the present roster of players is well-selected and some of them played for top college and universities in the US.

Kami Mga Hubin remained on top in the premiere class, as FRM Marketing grabbed the lead from No.4 spot in the non-rated division of the Suppliers Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Championship at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Condura ASSFBI Ladies led the women’s group.

With three more outings left, the KMH bowlers of Robbie Elegado have 6,337 pinfalls, with 145 pins over Sharp led by Irne Diaz with 6,192.

Silverado ASSFBI of Cecil Silverio is third with 6,110.

Welcome honors ready for
defeated boxing champ

Despite his shocking and controversial loss to American boxer Timothy Bradley, the Philippine Army is still open in giving welcome honors to eight-world division champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao once he returns home from the United States.

"It's up to the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM, Pacquiao's mother unit as a reservist) to recommend on that. But regardless of that, we are still open to honor him in whatever possible way," PA spokesperson Major Harold Cabunoc said.

Pacquiao was awarded a lieutenant colonel's commission at the ARESCOM for his boxing feats late last year.
