2 minors plead guilty
in slay of Bacoleño

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Two minors pleaded guilty yesterday to killing and robbing a 39-year-old resident of Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod City before Regional Trial Court Branch 41 Judge Ray Allan Drilon.

The judge is expected to issue a decision tomorrow.

The minors pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with homicide.

Information filed in court states that the 17 and 16-year-old boys acted with discernment when they robbed Arnel Barredo Las Piñas of personal belonging and cash on Oct. 30, 2011.

The victim was a cousin of Brgy. Villamonte Captain Andrei Victor Las Piñas.

He sustained three stab wounds on his stomach and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, the police said.

The victim was sitting in front of his house when the suspects passed by and stabbed him without provocation, the police report added.*CPG
