After 25 years of building micro and small enterprises for Negros, the Association of Negros Producers is now gearing up its services to the fruit and vegetable industry through the development of agri enterprises.

In partnership with AFOS Foundation, ANP will officially launch OURFood-Negros on Tuesday at the Governor’s Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City at 10 a.m., a press release from the group said.

Eighteen organized farmers’ groups, who are into vegetable and food production, will be engaged as partners by the program, it said.

OURFood envisions to increase income opportunities for small farmers, as well as improve their product standards through trainings and qualification and market linkages.

The program will eventually develop a sustainable business model for the vegetable and fruit supply chain through the participation of institutional buyers.

It also hopes to prepare processors and farmers to become globally competitive in 2015 when Asia harmonizes its resources and trade.*CGS
