3-on-3 basketball
tilt opens today

The 1st LNA7 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge 2012 opens today at 8:30 a.m. at the West Negros University Gym, a press release from WNU Sports Office said.

Aimed to revive the 3-on-3 basketball in the province, the tournament will run for two weekends, June 16-17 and June 23-24.

To be contested are top honors in four age-group divisions – the 10 and under, 12 and under, 15 and under and the 17 and under.

Tournament director Elvis Atinado said that each team will be composed of four players with only those who are qualified in their age group will be allowed to play.

For the 10 and under, only players who were born 2002 onward are allowed to compete, 2000 onward in the 12 and under, 1997 onward for 15 and under, and 1995 onward for 17 and under, the press release said.

Among the teams the have confirmed their participation in the 10 and under age group are: St. John’s Institute (SJI)-A, SJI-White, SJI-Violet, Trinity Christian School (TCS) A and B, Mansilingan Basketball Club, and the Kiddies Warriors (KW) A and B.

For the 12 and under, the teams are: SJI A, B, C and D, TCS A and B, and KW A and B. Seeing action in the 15 and under are: WNU A and B, Mansilingan Christian Academy, and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos A and B, while for the 17 and under, the competing teams are WNU A and B, MCA and TCS.*
