Capitol, Kiwi farmers sign MoU
for dairy industry development

Negros Occidental, entered into a memorandum of understanding with two dairy farm owners, Petrus Nicolaas Smit and Evan Gregory, in New Zealand last week to develop a dairy industry in the province.

The province was represented by Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena and Board Member Nehemias de la Cruz and the agreement was witnessed by Emiliana Pe Shi, Consul General, ad honorem of the Honorary Consulate General of the Philippines in Auckland, New Zealand, Decena said.

The agreement provides that the province will send five experts in technical field, dairying, pasture development, product marketing, and milk production and processing, Decena also said.

Paravets receive
stipend, PVO says

Paraveterinarians from 13 local government units and pastors trained as paravets have received their monthly stipend of P627, 500 recently.

Catheryn Narez, livestock coordinator, said yesterday that the amount covers monthly stipends of 442 paravets from November 2011 to April 2012.

Covered in the releases of paravet allowances are the towns of Ilog, Manapla, La Castellana, Calatrava, Pulupandan, San Enrique, Don Salvador Benedictor, Valladolid, and the cities of Kabankalan, Victorias, and Bago.

Brownouts slated by
CENECO, NOCECO

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines will shut down some of its transmission facilities under the Central Negros Cooperative and the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

NGCP will conduct maintenance activities along its Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV transmission line, a press release from the firm said.

Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.
