‘Fathers and Others’ exhibit on

The Christian Artists Negrense Visual Art Society is mounting an exhibit, titled “Fathers and Others”, at the CANVAS Art Gallery at San Juan Street, Bacolod City, until June 30, a press release from organizers said.

The exhibit features the works of Arthur, Miriam, Daniel, Jasper and Elijah Bayles, Bert Berondo, Perry and Kabuhi Argel, Leopoldo and Christian Bautista, Dan Dojillo, Karen Soberano, Lor Sumagaysay, and Chrysee Samillano, the press release also said.

Renecito Novero Jr., cut the ribbon and led the invocation at Sunday’s opening rites, and welcomed the art group that aims to promote Christian visual art of paintings, photography, sculpture, film, dance and other art forms.

CANVAS founder Arthur Bayles said it visualizes the goodness of God, as Jesus Christ declares the Kingdom through parables, the press release added.

Meanwhile, the new paintings of Raymond Legaspi will be on display at the Museo Negrense de La Salle from June 22 to July 30, the press release also said.*

Punta Taytay wins
dance showdown

Punta-Taytay bested eight others in the first Barangay Festivals Dance Showdown competition in Bacolod City during the city’s 74th Charter Day Commemoration Monday.

Punta-Taytay received P30,000 cash prize. It was also adjudged Best in Costume and won the street dance competition and received P2,000 each for the special awards.

Barangay Granada was second in the competition and received P20,000 cash prize, while Brgy. Cabug won third place and received P10,000 cash prize. All received trophies.

Barangay Granada was adjudged Best in Choreography and won P2,000 as special prize.

Other participants were barangays 3, 17, Felisa, Estefania, Vista Alegre, and Banago.

Mothers' bread 'buddy’

Good news for mothers who are always on the lookout for “sulit” or value-for-money items for their family.

There is a food item that the whole family will enjoy, from top to bottom any time of the day. With Gardenia breads, especially the Classic White, there is no such thing as leftovers, a press release from the food company said.

The bread is soft, smells freshly-baked and does not turn into cardboard-like slices the day after it is bought; and so tasty, it could be eaten plain, the press release also said.

Aside from being cholesterol-and bromate-free, the loaf has zero-trans fat to ensure a healthy heart, fortified with folate to help prevent anemia during pregnancy and is critical to the growth and development of the fetus, and fortified with vitamins and minerals, the press release said.

The G-lock, meanwhile, guarantees freshness and has a specific color for a particular day to let the consumers know, not only the expiration date but also the day the bread was delivered, the press release also said.

The colors corresponding to the delivery day are tan for Monday; orange, Tuesday; yellow, Wednesday; blue, Thursday; green, Friday; red, Saturday; and white for Sunday. This system that is not practiced by other bread suppliers, ensures that only fresh loaves are kept in store shelves, and unsold ones are pulled out every day of delivery, the press release added.*
