PROBAC/LNA7 cagefest

Yan Dy scored 22 points to lead Boston Finance past Sun Cellular, 95-94 Wednesday night in the ongoing 1st PROBAC/LNA 7 Invitational Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University gym.

Boston started strong in the opening quarter as Dy scored 15 points to lead his team’s 20-point advantage at the end of the period, 35-15.

The Finance team delivered 26 more points to extend the lead to 25 points at halftime, 61-36.  John Villaroman and Jerald Abrot scored 10 and 6 points, respectively, to lead Boston while JR Fernandez and Omay Demondeverde replicated the feat on Sun Cell’s side.

Sun Cellular sizzled from the three-point arc in the third quarter for a 29-14 run while Matt Delis carried Boston’s scoring load with 12 points.

In the final quarter, Sun Cellular’s Echarri converted six triples but the effort proved futile as Boston iced the game.

Backing Dy in scoring were Delis with 16 points, Villaroman with 12, Abrot 11, Basa and Pabon added 7 points each.

Mars Echarri topscored for Sun Cellular with 22 points as Demonteverde hit 15 points, Patrick Echarri and Fernandez delivered 14 points apiece, and Sukraj Sekhon has 9 points.

The Cellulars shot a total of 12 triples in the game against Boston’s three.

In the other game, Raymund Lacson and JP Geroso had 25 and 23 points to anchor the Bad Boys 110-80 victory over the winless Angels Burger.

The Bad Boys led the half, 53-26.

In the third quarter, the Angels managed to cut the lead to 76-52 but failed to sustain their momentum as Bad Boys prevailed.
