Two brothers were apprehended by the Bacolod City Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group in Brgy. 16, shortly after noon yesterday.

CAIDSOG head, Supt. Santiago Rapiz, identified those arrested as Ed Penlan Pontero, 42, and Edilberto Pontero, 40, both of Purok Dalawidaw in Brgy. 16.

He said the elder Pontero was first to be arrested when he handed three sticks of suspected marijuana cigarets to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P100 outside their house.

Rapiz added that when they frisked Penlan, they recovered two additional sticks of suspected marijuana cigarets.

After the arrest, the policemen swooped down on his residence and caught his younger brother, allegedly in the act of repacking suspected shabu, the police said.

Rapiz said they recovered an elongated plastic sachet of suspected shabu, a tooter, and P17,320 in cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal drugs trade from Edilberto.

The Ponteros are now detained at the lockup cell of the Bacolod City Police Office and illegal drug charges will be filed against them.*APN
