The opening of bids for the construction of the 3-storey Education and Training Center School building in Brgy. 16, Bacolod City, is scheduled on July 3, 2012.
Wilkinson Construction and HJL Construction, represented by Joe Marie Asuero and Fe Antonio, respectively, were able to obtain bid documents during the pre-bid conference Thursday.
Present during the pre-bid conference were Bids and Awards chairman Goldwyn Nifras, BAC vice chairman Luz Treyes, and members Elma Advincula, Jaries Encabo and BAC Secretariat Melvin Ricarbar, Technical Working Group member Xenia Locsin, project engineer Aladino Agbones, Social Action Center representatives Cecilia Ledoma and Helen Aquino, and some prospective bidders.
The approved budget for the contract (ABC) is about P24 million.
Ricarbar said the opening of bids on July 3 will be closed at 9:30 a.m. The BAC will then conduct an eligibility check and if the prospective bidder passes it, that is when they will open the bids, he said.
The ETCS IV will be constructed on the city's 2-hectare property in Brgy. 16 at the Reclamation, under the 50/50 scheme of the Department of Education.
Under this partnership, the DepEd and City of Bacolod will share 50/50 in the cost of its construction.
The memorandum of agreement for the construction of the project was signed by Education Secretary Armin Luistro and Mayor Evelio Leonardia at the DepEd main office on February 9, 2012.*CGS
