Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz has ordered Station 2 chief, Senior Insp. Robert Dejucos, to meet with the security personnel of the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol and discuss measures to prevent theft incidents in the area.
An employee of the Provincial Capitol assigned at the Bids and Awards Committee Office recently lost P4,500 in cash, that was stolen from a steel cabinet at Provincial Administration Center in Bacolod City.
In 2010, unidentified suspects also stole a box of dental medicines valued at P147,696 at the PAC, while a laptop computer and a digital camera were stolen from the Public Information Office of the Capitol last year, and it was recorded by a closed-circuit television surveillance camera.
De la Paz said the security guards at the Provincial Capitol should come up with strict measures to prevent further thefts in the area. He added that the possibility of the incidents being inside jobs is possible because the suspects knew where the items stolen were kept.
Provincial Legal Officer Jose Ma. Valencia said the security chief of the Provincial Capitol should strengthen his security, to prevent such incident from happening again.*APN
