Novero eyeing VM
post in 2013 poll
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A former vice mayor of Bacolod yesterday said he is contemplating to run for the same position in the 2013 elections.

Rene Novero, who was asked if there is a possibility that he will run with Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who is reportedly running for congressman, with Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson running for mayor, said he believes this is possible.

The candidate for vice mayor under the Grupo Progreso will depend on who will be appointed by the NPC party. Among the possible aspirants are Councilors Homer Bais, Al Victor Espino, Roberto Rojas and Dindo Ramos.

Novero, a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition, has served as vice mayor for one term and had ran for congressman in 2007.

He, however, said there have been no talks with the group of the mayor and everything is still fluid.

Insofar as his political and personal relationship with Leonardia is concerned, Novero said they are on good speaking terms.

He was a councilor from 1988 to 1998 and vice mayor from 2004 to 2007.*CGS
