SCOUT GRADUATES URGED:
Intensify campaign
vs. gambling, drugs

Graduates of the Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit of the Philippine National Police were challenged by Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, gambling and other criminalities in the province, a government press release said.

Degamo assured the SCOUT graduates of the support of the provincial government and said the policemen are it’s partners in ensuring peace and order in Negros.

He said policemen have the unrelenting support of the province in stamping out illegal activities, particularly gambling and drugs, the press release said.

Degamo reiterated his support to the one-strike policy of the Department of Interior and Local Government in going after policemen found to have been directly or indirectly involved in illegal activities.

Around 150 policemen graduated recently from the first SCOUT training at the PNP Camp Carballo in Barangay Nagbagang, Sta. Catalina town, Negros Oriental. The second training, participated in by 170 police officers started June 22 and will run for 45 days, the press release added.*
