in front of 2 daughters

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The wife of an overseas worker was attacked and stabbed dead by an unidentified person in front of her two daughters at their home in Brgy. Paticui, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, early Monday morning.

The victim, identified as Ma Theresa Vinco, 39, succumbed to multiple stab wounds, police records show.

Investigations by the Hinigaran police showed that the victim was awakened by the presence of an unidentified man, who had entered their residence. When she shouted for help, the suspect repeatedly stabbed her with her two daughters, who are minors, looking on.

Police investigations also showed that no valuable items or cash had been taken from the residence of the victim, although there was an indication that the suspect was looking for something.

In an interview with MBC Aksyon Radyo, Rowena Palomero, sister of the victim yesterday expressed dismay that nobody among the neighbors of her sister, responded to the calls for help.

The husband of Vinco, who is working in the United States, was reportedly scheduled to send money to the victim, at the time.

Meanwhile, unidentified suspects ransacked two commercial establishments in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, and carted away about P85,000 in cash on June 24, police records show.

The Living Stone Lending Corp. and the Asset Credit Corp. located at the NZ Arcade Building in Brgy. 2 poblacion, Kabankalan City, were entered forcibly and ransacked by the suspects * GPB
