The Negros Federation of Dairy CooperativesProcessing Plantin Barangay La Granja,La Carlota City in Negros Occidental resumed operations yesterday after a two-day shutdown triggered by milk spoilage, Provincial Veterinarian Ranante Decena said yesterday.
The plant daily produces 200 to 400 liters of milk that is sold in Bacolod City and to local governments’ conducting feeding programs, he said.
On Sunday the plant on advice of the Department of Trade and Industrysuspended receiving milk for processing due to reports that Gramoxonewas used to control weeds in certain areasnear the milk processing plant, NEFEDACO manager Rocendo Ocidoreported.

The Valiant Bank of Iloilo was awarded for the seventh straight year the Certificate of Transparency award from the yearly MIX Market Global merit recognition awards of the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor, a press release from the firm said.
Bank president, Ian Eric Pama, received the award for the company during the 2012 15th Anniversary of the RBAP-MABS program of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines and the United States Agency for International Development held at the Hyatt Hotel in Manila recently.
In 2006, Valiant Bank bested 230 MFI’s from 63 countries by being the 1st Philippine Bank to receive the prestigious CGAP global award, the press release said.

reach Germany
The products of an assisted local producer of the Technology and Livelihood Development Center is now on display in Baden-Baden, Germany, Gerard Tupas, TLDC project development officer II, said yesterday.
Tupas said the bags made of pandan leaves produced by Fernando and Thelma Native Products of Calatrava, Negros Occidental are now showcased in Germany.
He said Ana Lohse, a native of Hinobaan who is married to a German national, saw the bags produced by Fernando and Thelma and brought samples to Germany.
