IN BACOLOD
Songstress opens
music studio

Bacolod songstress, Token Lizares, is taking her passion for music to new heights – that of discovering the star in others.

The Token Music Studio at the MC Metroplex Building, at B.S. Aquino Drive in Bacolod City, will be blessed at 4 p.m. today.

Fr. Ruel Jundos, chaplain of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Chapel at the Riverside Hospital, will officiate at the blessing; while Leilani Salem Alba and Ryan Gamboa, both of ABS-CBN Bacolod, and Bing Ascalon, of Bantay Bata 163- Negros, will cut the ribbon.

“Music has always been my passion,” Token said. “And I’m blessed that my mother has been very supportive. I want others to also follow theirs, and discover the star in them.”

The studio will offer voice lessons, piano, guitar, drums, violin, saxophone, and bass guitar tutorials, aside from providing the venue for band, vocal or choir rehearsal or recording, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday, starting July 2.

Everybody is welcome, Token said, because one can never be too young or too old for a melody.

A gifted student will have the chance to make it big in the music business with Token’s help. She is also a producer, and has already come up with her latest album “Ikaw Lamang Sinta”.

Token, who has earned the moniker “Charity Diva” because of her readiness and commitment to sing for the benefit of the less privileged, said she intends to organize a recital every six months or so, with the participation of her students.

She said that while music is her passion, she feels complete when her performance can help others.

Token thanked her family, friends and benefactors for their continued support and prayers. “They are my wealth.”

With Token as the voice instructress, the music studio is now accepting enrollees. It also has Nhoy Dela Mar teaching drums/guitar/base; John de Goma, base/piano/guitar; and James Javelona, piano.

For inquiries, those interested may contact Token at 0922-2715170 or 0920-8263953.*CGC/LTG
