Negros getting P1.7B
boost from 4Ps drive

The 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) is bringing P1.7 billion in cash grants to 104,097 beneficiaries in Negros Occidental this year, which will also help pump prime the province’s economy, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Liane Garcia said yesterday.

The 4Ps is a human development program of the national government that provides conditional cash grants to extremely poor households to improve their health, nutrition and education, particularly of children aged 0-14, she said.

Garcia said the allocation for Negros Occidental this year is the largest ever received by the province and the biggest among the provinces in Western Visayas.moremoremore

OMBUDSMAN TELLS MAYOR
Enforce dismissal of
6 city employees

The Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas has directed Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia to implement its March 7, 2007 order to dismiss six employees of the city government.

The case was filed by the Commission on Audit Regional Office VI against Management and Audit Service Office officer-in-charge Ricardo Dahildahil Jr., Crafts and Trade helper Salvacion Ortega, Accountant IV Eduardo Ravena, Office of the City Treasurer Clerk II Lalaine Villalva, former Executive Assistant Renato Rojo (Valdez administration) and the late City Accountant Pioquito Quinones.

In her letter to Leonardia dated June 11, 2012, acting director Carla Juris Narvios-Tanco, said the implementation of decisions, orders or resolutions issued by the Ombudsman in disciplinary cases are immediately executory.moremoremore

Power rates to

Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez yesterday admitted having marital problems and that he and his wife, former Sulu Rep. Soraya Jaafar, have not seen each other for some time.

Golez, when asked over DYRL’s Merkado Publiko about the current state of his marriage, said he and his wife have had marital problems for two years now.

Golez and his wife have not been living together since before Christmas of 2010, a source close to them said.moremoremore
