About P100,000 worth of suspected shabu, marijuana bricks, leaves and fruiting tops were recovered by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental, at about 7 a.m. yesterday.
The PDEA members apprehended Roland Tison of Brgy. 4, Hinigaran, after a buy-bust operation conducted, based on information that he is engaged in the illegal drugs trade, PDEA Region 6 Director Yogi Ruiz said.
Tison was apprehended after he handed a small sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P500, Ruiz said.
Ruiz added that PDEA members also swooped down on Tison’s residence, where they arrested Alcadio Alyado Jr. of Sitio Dinandan in Brgy. Anahao, and Achan Buga-ay of Coroña Street, all in Hinigaran.
PDEA agents seized five small sachets of suspected shabu, a big and a medium sachets of the banned substance, three small marijuana bricks, a half sack of marijuana weeds, a plastic bag full of marijuana seeds and four packs of rolling papers, at the residence of Tison, he said.
Ruiz told the DAILY STAR that Tison has been under surveillance for sometime and that they are still working on the identity if his drug supplier.
Charges for illegal drugs sale and possession will be filed against Tison while Alyado and Buga-ay will be charged for visiting a drug den, Ruiz said.
Meanwhile, a man allegedly cultivating a marijuana plant was also arrested in a drug-bust in La Carlota City Thursday night.
Agustino Ogatis, in a television interview, said he only uses of the marijuana leaves to cure his asthma. But the police said he sold the marijuana plant for P300 to a police poseur buyer.*APN
