Organic park,
restaurant launched

The RU Foundry recently opened its ecological organic park and restaurant in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, offering organic farming to the public.

Ramon Uy, Sr., owner and president of RU Foundry, said he decided to put an eco-organic park forlocal farmers.

“This park is designed for farmers to learn new techniques of farming and at the same time showing the public what it is like to have organic products,” Uy said.

The park showcases the organic garden with different kinds of plants and herbs, technologies like ram pumps, native livestock and poultry animals, and horseback riding, he said.

On weekends, they have farmers’ day meetings where they train farmers in the new techniques of organic agriculture, planting organic rice, and other agricultural technologies related to organic farming, Uy said.

They also hold business functions, birthdays, and other celebrations, he said.

On regular days, they serve organic food at their restaurant where some of ingredients are taken from the organic garden at the park, he said.

“This is not an ordinary park because customers visitng our farm learn something about organic agriculture. It is educational as well,” Uy said.

The park is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. but they extend their hours whenever they have bookings for afternoon and night parties, he added.*LTG
