2 SPUD students
get recognition

Two students of Saint Paul University-Dumaguete were recognized for exemplary leadership performance during the search for the Outstanding Paulinian Students of the Philippines and the Ayala Young Leaders Congress, recently.

Senior student Nica Jean Ignacio, taking up Bachelor in Education major in Mathematics, was chosen one of the top five Outstanding Paulinian Students of the Philippines.

Another student, Eduard Joseph Narciso, was chosen as one of the Top 80 chosen leaders of the Ayala Young Leaders Congress.

Narcisio is a third year Bachelor of Business Administration Major in Management Marketing at SPUD.

The awarding ceremony was held recently at Saint Paul University in Manila.

Ignacio said the motivation and prayers from all her friends and teachers at SPUD help boost her courage to become more inspired in the competition, the press release said.

Other outstanding students who made it to the top five were from SPUD-Manila, Iloilo, Tugugarao and Surigao.

There were at least 809 applicants but only 80 made it to the top list. The finalists are expected to join a special project that will respond to the vision of Winning Hearts and Minds: Changing Paradigms while making an impact to society, the press release said.

Secretary Armin Luistro of the Department of Education handed the award to the Top 80 young leaders in the country, the press release added.*
