The police has filed parricide charges against a Negrense for the death of her husband, a German national, in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Police Supt. Simeon Gane yesterday said the criminal complaint of parricide was filed against Ma. Ronelia Tipawan-Knitz, whose husband, Herman Knitz, was found dead on Dec. 18 at their residence in Bago City.
Aside from the parricide charges lodged against Knitz before the Bago City Prosecutor’s Office last week, Gane said murder charges were also filed against three John Does.
Based on the findings of the PNP Crime Laboratory and their investigations, Knitz, 72, have already been dead for four hours, before he was found by his wife, Ma. Ronelia, who was the last person to be seen with him, Gane said.
Knitz, a retired school teacher, succumbed to 15 stab wounds and was also hit in the head with a hammer, he added.
Gane also said there was no sign of forced entry to the house of the victim, and no valuable items were missing.
Police investigations also showed that Knitz was alone in the house, when the incident took place, and that he was attacked by more than one suspect.
Gane said his wife was given 10 days by the Bago City Prosecutor’s Office to submit her counter-affidavit, in response to accusations against her. *GPB back
