BFP lists ways to prevent
household fire occurrence

CEBU CITY--- The Bureau of Fire Protection in Central Visayas is seeking the cooperation of the community in setting up measures to prevent fire incidents, a government press release said.

BFP-7 Chief for Regional Operations, Chief Inspector Ronaldo Orbeta, relayed this during the recent Kapihan forum held by the Philippine Information Agency in celebration of Fire Prevention Month this March with the theme, “Makiisa, Makialam at Makipagtulungan Upang Sunog ay Maiwasan.”

Orbeta also reminded the public to get involved in the program facilitated by the Bureau to lessen fire cases in the region and reiterated the vital role of everyone in fire prevention.

BFP-7 Information Officer Sr. Insp. Fritzie Manatad reminded the public not to stay near walls that are made of light materials, curtains and other kind of cloth, while cooking as this could also cause fires in residential structures.

Manatad also advice parents and adults to keep lamps and matches away from the reach of children.

Lighted cigarette butts should also be put out before being thrown in waste baskets.*PIA
