Basketball tournament
opens in EB Magalona

Sixteen teams will vie for the title when the 5th David Albert Lacson Basketball Tournament opens tomorrow in E.B. Magalona, a press release from the Mayor’s Office said.

The month-long tournament for players 21 years old and below, will be managed by the town’s Sangguniang Kabataan Federation headed by Luigi Clemente.

The competing teams are grouped into two divisions with Bracket A composed of Barangays Manta-angan, Damgo, Consing, III-Poblacion, Madalag, Tanza, I-Poblacion and Tabigue and Bracket B composed of Barangays Alicante, Pasil, Tomongtong, San Jose, Nanca, Sto. Nino, Tuburan and II-Poblacion, the press release said.

P136M budget

The Department of Education has allocated P136.6 million for the annual Palarong Pambasa set May 6 to 12 in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro said the national games are important components in the development of school children and students.

"When we say total human development, we mean to develop persons who are physically fit, socially responsible, and globally competitive," he said.
