DSWD distributes family access cards to quake victims in NegOr
The Department of Social Welfare and Development recently distributed family access cards to easily track the services and relief goods for the quake victims in evacuation centers in Negros Oriental, a press release from the DSWD said yesterday.
The FAC contains information like family composition, address, kind of assistance received from agencies, and signatures of the head of the family, social workers, and concerned LGU officials, and will serve as an identification card for the availment of assistance.
The DSWD said that the FAC will help determine what kind of assistance has already been provided to a family and therefore, cannot be availed of again. It ensures that government resources are be equally shared with those in need.
Aside from relief supplies of food and non-food items provided by the DSWD, LGUs and nongovernment organizations, quake victims also received psychosocial interventions, counseling, medical, livelihood, and shelter assistance.
The DSWD has provided relief assistance to 64,886 families or 317,517 persons from the 169 barangays hit by the February 6 earthquake, the press release added.*
