PMHA conducts
stress debriefing
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A two-day stress debriefing was conducted on teachers and school children in La Libertad and Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, recently, by the Philippine Mental Health Association.

Dr. Aurora Flores, PMHA provincial head, said they observed that the children are still showing signs of trauma on even a minor aftershock, the slightest rainfall or thunderstorm, and do not want to go to school anymore.

She added that she had a client who was recovering from the trauma due to tropical storm “Sendong”, but when the earthquake struck, her counseling was back to square one.

Gov. Roel Degamo has requested the conduct of stress debriefing on earthquake victims.

He added that debriefing will also be done to residents of Jimalalud, Tayasan, Ayungon and Bindoy.*JG
