CSC ready to assist workers
in filling up new SALN form

BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

The Civil Service Commission said it is willing to assist government employees in filling up the new Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth form.

The new SALN form was released last year and will be used this year in declaring a public worker’s assets and liabilities for 2011.

While the local CSC claimed that it conducted seminars and trainings for administrative and human resources personnel of government offices and agencies, many employees are still confused by the details included in the new form.

One employee said their regional office simply mailed to them the new forms but they do not have proper guidance on how to fill these up.

He pointed out that one detail in the new form is categorized as “tangible assets”, claiming that he and his colleagues have to ask around or even call their regional office for help.

Merlinda Quillano, CSC provincial director, said it is the responsibility of human resources and administrative officers to explain and guide their personnel on the new SALN form.

She also presumed that those who attended the trainings last year already disseminated the information to their co-employees. So far, Quillano said they have not received any complaints on the new SALN form.*JFP
