WVRAA delegates
arrive in Bacolod

Contingents from the provinces of Aklan and Iloilo arrived yesterday ahead of the other delegates from Panay Island for the 2012 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association meet set on March 12 to 16 at the Panaad Park and Stadium and the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City.

Department of Education Provincial Sports head Romeo Sison said the Antique delegation will arrive today while those from Guimaras and the remaining athletes and coaches from Iloilo will be checking in tomorrow.

The Aklanons are billeted at Rizal Elementary School, while those from Antique will stay at the Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School.

Sharp, Metro Sales pace
Suppliers bowling tourney

Sharp Team led with 718 pinfalls in the premiere division, and Metro Sales and Davies Fusion I did the same at the opening of the Suppliers Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Championship at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The members of the leading group in Class A category are Edgar De Leon, Matt Gaudite, Rey “Spitfire” Bala-an and Nonoy Hulguin.

Metro Sales headed by Rey Oreta tops the non-rated department with 671 balls, while Davies Fusion II of Vilma Robles ruled the women’s bracket with 953.

PAFELA to hold
 Unity Run 2012

The Pag-Ibig Fund Employees Labor Association-Bacolod Chapter, in cooperation with Pag-Ibig Fund-Bacolod Branch Management, will hold its first “Unity Run 2012” on March 24, at the Bacolod City Government Center.

The event, on the theme, “Pakwela sang PAFELA para Pang-Eskuela” is part of PAFELA-Bacolod Chapter’s union anniversary celebration.

Event chairman Mae Ramos said the fun run that will start at 6 a.m. at the Bacolod City Government Center on March 24, aims to raise funds to augment the needs of the less fortunate public school elementary students for the next school opening.
