Man arrested for
indiscriminate firing

Police arrested a man allegedly for indiscriminate firing in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, around 2:10 a.m. Monday near the police station.

Richard Española, 38, married, and a resident of Samaca Village in Mabigo, Canlaon City, is now in the custody of the police, with criminal charges being readied against him, police reports said.

Española was arrested after he allegedly fired his gun twice for no apparent reason when was believed to be under the influence of liquor, the police report added.

Seized from him were a .38 caliber revolver with no serial number, three live rounds of ammunition, and two spent shells.

He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions in violation of Republic Act 8294, the police said.*JFP
