The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority met yesterday with 32 Community Training and Employment Coordinators of the Local Government Units of Negros Occidental Province at the Masskara Hall, New Government Center, a press release from the Bacolod City government said.

TESDA Neg. Occ. Provincial Director Lorena Yunque discussed with CTECs the guidelines on the slated PANAAD Livelihood Skills Competition scheduled on April 11.

The contest areas are cooking (Negrense Cuisine), tour guiding, table skirting with centerpiece, web page development, haircutting and mechanical CAD which intends to evaluate the contestant’s skills and knowledge in computer aided design, specifically in creating detail and assembly drawings, the press release said.

Yunque said that the livelihood skills competition is open to all aged 18 to 40 years old.

Participants are selected by the CTECs, she added.

Winners of the competition will get P5, 000 for the 1st prize, P4, 000 and 3,000 for the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.

Yunque said, TESDA scholarship slots for certain courses will also be given to the winners.

“This competition aims at showcasing Negrense’s ability and competence in the respective areas of the competition,” she said.

The PANAAD Livelihood Skills Competition is conducted annually facilitated by TESDA and sponsored by the provincial government, the press release said.*
