DOLE sets up 2
satellite offices

The Department of Labor and Employment Region 6, opened two satellite offices this month in Negros Occidental, Labor regional director Ponciano Ligutom said yesterday at the meeting of the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council held in Bacolod City, a press release from DOLE said.

The DOLE satellite offices are in Sagay City, and Himamaylan City.

The Sagay satellite office will attend to clients from Victorias City up to San Carlos City. In Himamaylan City, it will cater clients’ concerns from Pontevedra to Hinobaan, and La Carlota City, La Castellana, Isabela, and Moises Padilla.

Ligutom said, this development is expected to bring the government closer to the people and to answer the continuing clamor for accessible services of DOLE in the province.

Sagay City Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva and Himamaylan City Mayor Augusto Ernesto Bascon welcomed the establishment of the DOLE Office in their cities and pledged full support to the implementation of the DOLE programs and projects, the press release said.

The labor and management groups in the province also lauded the move, it added.

Ligutom said they are just addressing the needs of our clients particularly our workers and employers in the province despite agency’s constraints on its resources.

The Sagay Satellite Office is housed at the Community Affairs Office, ABC Hall, Quezon Street; and Himamaylan Satellite Office is located at Rizal Street, Barangay 2, Himamaylan City, the press release said.*
