Guv, UP president to lead
agri facility groundbreaking

University of the Philippines president Alfredo Pascual will be in Bacolod City Wednesday, to meet with Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and UP alumni in breaking ground for a P6 million-Tissue Culture Laboratory at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños College of Agriculture - Research and Training Station La Granja, La Carlota City.

This is part of the Sustainable Agri-Livestock Technology -Training and Extension program, and the facility is a collaboration between the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, the U.P. at Los Baños and the UPLB Alumni Foundation in Negros Occidental, a press release from the organizers said.

With Pascual will be UP Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Dr. Enrique Tolentino and College of Agriculture Dean, Dr. Domingo Angeles.

At 7 p.m., also on Wednesday Pascual will meet the U.P. alumni in the province in a fellowship dinner being organized by the UPLBAFNO led by its president, Enrique Miguel Lacson, at Aboy’s Restaurant in Bacolod City.

Lacson is inviting all U.P. alumni coming from the various U.P. campuses to join the fellowship dinner with the U.P. president, with a minimal registration fee of Php300 for cost of dinner. Registration at the venue starts at 6:30 p.m., the press release said.
