Busy Sunday
Last Sunday was a really busy day with birthday celebrations, merienda and an early dinner for balikbayan friends, hosted by Lina Lim. Solomon and Elva Lapore and I arrived together at Lillies Garden for lunch.
The two celebrators prepared native dishes and fresh fruits from the garden, and each guest had extra to bring home. When it started drizzling we transferred to Pavillon I, where it was cozier.
Larry Muñoz, who used to be a Caltex executive, is now retired and is a consultant of Total, while Jane, wife of Ceneco president Arnel Lapore, was busy with her business. We enjoyed sampling the sweets prepared by the celebrators.
Then I had to bid goodbye to join Lina in a Sum-ag function and proceeded to her beach house for merienda, a simple “hello and goodbye” affair for balikbayan friends Roger and Sally Engler, and Babes and Maurice Berdat, from Switzerland.
Roger and Sally have been married for 38 years and have two boys, who are also married, both to Filipinas, and really love Bacolod so they are now planning to stay for six months here and six months abroad.
The same is true for Babes and Maurice Berdat, a retired mechanical engineer. They have three children, now all professionals, who love staying here. Everyone enjoyed the sunset because of to the good weather. We really appreciated the food prepared by Letty Parcon.*
Remember: The little things we give away surely come back to us some other day, ‘coz God never forgets to reward those who share their unselfish hearts.* |
