Silay school receives
scouting awards

The Eagle Scouts of Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School were recognized by the Silay City government Monday for receiving gold and bronze Anahaw Awards recently, a press release from the City said.

The awardees are Eagle Scouts Adrian Lumabang, Neil Bryan Luzarita, Romeo Ilaya Jr. and Keith Jan Rojo; while the bronze awardees were Hem Mark Dela Cruz, Jan Carlo Parreñas, George Ferrer, Alfred Jan Limabang, Michael John Campos, and Edson Lopez, the press release said, adding that the awards were given by Advance Committee chairman Romeo Toda and Council Scout executive Roberto Maguad.

DMLMHS scout adviser Albino Berioso, said this was the first national award received by the school and the city.*

450 residents avail of
health services

A total of 450 residents of Brgy. Singcang Airport in Bacolod City benefited from the medical mission initiated by the Office of Rep. Anthony Golez (Bacolod, Lone District), Sunday at the J. R. Torres elementary School, a press release from his office said.

The activity was supported by the Bacolod City Sugarlandia Lions and the Bacolod City Mt. Kanlandog Lions, the press release said.

It added that  100 patients availed of eye checkups and eyeglasses by BCSL, 50 had diabetes screening by BCMKL, and 30 availed of dental services provided by the 303rd Army Infantry Battalion that also rendered massage, haircut services and feeding, with representatives of Tau Gamma Phi.

The medical mission was spearheaded by Dr. Cecilia Montini Amante, health coordinator of the Office of Golez, and volunteer doctors were led by Rosalie Gelisanga
