SJI wins 3rd Aspirants title

St. John’s Institute scored a three-peat when it defeated West Negros University Integrated School, 86-73, to defend its NOPSSCEA Aspirants basketball title played at WNU gym.

It was the third basketball championship in NOPSCEAA this year for the Falcons as the team also won the 10-Under tournament.

Miguel Jison topscored for SJI with 19 points, Eldrick Go added 18, Juan Diego Montoya and Raul Montinola scored 15 points each, Axo  Yao made 7 pints, Jerrick Tajonera had 5, Edgar Ducay with  4, Toper shot Co 2 points, and Jose Juson contributed a point.

WNU was led by Phil Pajanconi with a game-high 20 points and   Karl John Cepriano with 17 points.

The players in the Aspirants division must not be 16 years old before June 15, 1996.*NAB
