The Central Negros Electric Cooperative is offering a P300,000 reward to anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of the robbers who took P3.6 million in cash from the firm, its president, Arnel Lapore said yesterday.
Lapore said that after the robbery on March 2, the board met and passed a resolution offering s cash reward to whoever could give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
However, the members of the board were not able to implement the resolution immediately as they had to consult with the Bacolod City Police on how much the reward should be given, he said.
Lapore told the DAILY STAR they have written to several banks in Bacolod to help them raise the cash incentive but stressed that CENECO has a budget allotted for it in case none will reply.
With the reward offered, Lapore said, he believes the suspects will be arrested soon.
City police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said they welcome this development, as this will hasten the arrest of the suspects.
De la Paz appealed to the public to immediately report to the nearest police station if they have any information on the whereabouts of the suspects, six of whom have already been identified.
He said charges for robbery in band will be filed against the suspects, who are allegedly members of the Alferez group that is connected to the Kuratong Baleleng Gang and the Parohinog robbery group.
De la Paz said the charges will be filed against s Gerlado Saniel “alias Gagang” and Roel Remedios, “alias Yoyong” both of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, Richard Dagoman “alias Tangkad” of Tambulig, also in Zamboanga del Sur, Ruel Alvarez of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Reynaldo Bacolod “alias Toto” of Las Piñas City, and Joseph Calarmo of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.*APN back
