A former policeman assigned at the Bacolod City Police office and who is wanted for robbery was arrested in Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental at about 5 p.m. Monday for creating alarm and scandal.
Special Operations Task Group head, Supt. Santiago Rapiz, identified him as former Police Officer 2 Rodel Gelbore, 33, of Brgy. 1, Hinigaran.
Rapiz said Gilbore was arrested in the barangay and investigation showed that he also has an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge George Patriarca, who set his bail at P36,000.
Police said Gilbore is the suspect in the theft of the computer monitor of the Investigation and Detection Branch the Bacolod City Police office about two years ago and also the suspect in the robbery of a pregnant woman.
Gilbore was also subject of a complain by his fellow inmate at the lock up cell of police station 2 in August, 2010 who said the former policeman mauled him, police records show.
City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said Gilbore has been tagged absent without leave since 2009 and has already been relieved from the service.
Gilbore, who used to be assigned with the now defunct city mobile group, did not comment on the charges against him.
Dela Paz also reported the arrest of SPO2 Ricardo Hecita of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office at his residence in Brgy. 6, Bacolod City at about 6:15 p.m. last night.
He said Hecita was apprehended on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Philadelfa Agraviador for violation of Section 10 of Republic Act 7610, or child abuse.*APN back
