Officials commit to revive
glory of ‘Manokan Country’

Officials of Barangay 12 in Bacolod City and a vendors’ association have joined forces to reclaim the lost glory of Manokan Country as a tourist destination in Bacolod, a press release from the city said.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia appreciated the commitment of the leaders to once again make the Manokan Country a source of pride and honor for Bacolod.

The group told the mayor that the cleanliness, sanitation, beautification and peace and order of the Manokan Country area will be maintained on a sustained basis with the help of the City Mayor’s Office, Task Force Clean and Green, City Legal Office, the Central Market Administation Office, and the officials of Barangay 12 and MVCA.

They also informed the mayor of their decision to revive the Manokan Country Inasal Festival this year.

Leonardia said the city administration will extend full support to the Manokan Country revival group.*
