18TH Sugar Tee golf
opens at NOGCC

The 18th Sugar Tee Golf Tournament opens today at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bata, Bacolod City with 356 golfers from all over the country joining the three-day competition.

Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the NOGCC, this year’s tournament promises to be bigger than the previous years and draws participation from 178 teams from Luzon, Panay, Cebu, Bohol and Mindanao. Each team is composed of one club member and one guest.

Today’s registration starts at 6 a.m. followed by the tee-off, while tomorrow, the 6 a.m. registration will be followed by a shotgun tee off and at 11:30 a.m., the ceremonial tee- off. Participants will be treated to a Barrio Fiesta in the evening, tournament schedule forwarded to the media showed.

Esteban Raul Tanpinco, NOGCC president, is this year’s chairman of the 18th Sugar Tee Tournament.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the John Paul II National Institute, Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Diocesan Commission on Youth, and the Negros Junior Golf Foundation.*NAB
